Basingstoke Market

Markets have been held in Basingstoke since the original market was established by Royal Charter in 1622.

Basingstoke Market sets up in Market Place, the historic heart of Basingstoke town centre on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm. Stalls currently sell fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, clothing and more.

Parking

Free parking for one hour is available in the below short stay car parks owned by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council from Monday to Sunday 8am to 7pm.

• Castons Yard
• Jacobs Yard

If you are planning on staying a little longer, there are a number of council-owned long stay car parks dotted across the town centre. See the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council website for more information on town centre car parks and blue badge parking.

Alternatively, there are also spaces available at Festival Place and Basingstoke train station.

Public transport

The Top of The Town is well connected by public transport and is just a short walk away from Basingstoke's railway and bus stations.

Most local bus services are provided by Stagecoach.

Rail services are provided by South Western Railway, First Great Western and Cross Country.
