Looking for a secondary school in Basingstoke and Deane
If you are looking for a secondary school for your child from September 2025 then it’s almost time to apply. For more information on the application process take a look at Hampshire County Council’s website.
Hampshire County Council also has a handy list of key dates including when applications open, the deadline and the date you will find out what school your child has been allocated.
You’ll also find a useful school finder tool on the Hampshire County Council website which highlights the catchment areas for each school so you can see if you fall into these.

The Hurst School

Thursday 3 October 2024 - Open Evening from 6pm to 8pm. You do not need to book a place at the Open Evening, you can just go along.
Open Mornings at The Hurst School will take place on Tuesday 8, Wednesday 9 and Thursday 10 October 2024. There will be three sessions each day starting at 9.15am, 10.15am and 11.15am. You will need to book a place to attend an Open Morning by calling the school Reception on 0118 981 7474.
The Vyne Community School

The Vyne Community School will also have two Coffee Mornings - Monday 30 September 2024 from 9.15am to 10.30am for South View and Four Lanes and then Tuesday 1 October 2024 from 9.15am to 10.30am for Oakridge and other schools. If you hope to attend please register your interest.
