Discover routes
Looking for on and off road, downhill, uphill or a flat route then Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council and Bikemap Net have plenty of options to help you plan your next adventure in and around Basingstoke.
Extend your ride into the beautiful Hampshire Countryside, with over 750 miles of off-road sections and urban paths to explore.
One of our favourites is an expert route which takes you on a 21-mile loop from Winklebury out to Hannington with breath taking views over the Hampshire Downs.
Discover trails
If off road mountain biking is your thing, there are endless trails to enjoy across the borough taking you through fields, dense woodland (avoid the roots) on single tracks with long downhill sections, railway crossings, bridleways and bridges. Visit Komoot to discover more.
This 17 mile trail or shortcut eight mile trail starts at The Fox Inn in Newfound and takes you out towards Wootton St Lawrence into the countryside. Enjoy the tracks, take in the beautiful views across the fields of Deane and Oakley and pass near the source of the River Test.
Discover a ‘pit stop’
For those who enjoy a bike ride but also enjoy a ‘pit stop’ there are many places in and around the area to take a pause and enjoy the view. Even if this view is your chosen beverage at the end of your ride!
Another top route takes you around Ellisfield, a small picturesque village on the outskirts of Basingstoke. This moderate 13-mile trail will get your lungs and legs really working and has one of the best downhill sections Basingstoke has to offer. A small detour into Ellisfield at the end of your ride takes you to The Fox Public House for a well-deserved rest!
